Eranthis spheres are also called aconite. The Eranthis Hyemalis has a yellow flower with a green collar and is hardy. They come back every year. They do well under deciduous shrubs.

The Dutch name for Eranthis is aconite. It is one of the earliest flowering bulbous plants. If they are having a good time, they quickly form a carpet of yellow flowers. They bloom about the same time as the snowdrops.

Eranthis is a cheerful bulbous plant. It is suitable for naturalising in a border, or under deciduous shrubs, trees and hedges. They self-seed easily and withstand a dry spring or hot summer just fine. Eranthis flowers in February and March and grows to a height of about 7 cm. They like sun or partial shade. They also do well in the rock garden and in pots or containers. What applies to almost all bulbous plants, also applies to the Eranthis. They don't like wet feet. Therefore, plant the bulbs in well-drained soil. They are very hardy. Plant the bulbs about 5 cm deep and 5 cm apart.
