Order Camassia bulbs Leichtlinii

The bulbs of the Camassia Leichtlinii have beautiful flowers. The bulbs are hardy. The flower is called prairie lily. They are stately white flower clusters on high stems. They like to be in sun/part shade. If they are good, they will multiply. You can leave them in the same place year after year. Applications: flower beds and borders, as cut flower, between ground covers and in rock gardens.

The origin of most camassias lies in North America, where the bulbs served as food for the Indians until this century, from which the name Camassia (after Quamash or Camass) was derived. The Camassia is an easy bulb. Grows well in both clay and nutrient-rich sandy soil. As long as they are not too wet, but also not too dry. They do well in sun and partial shade and are hardy. These bulbs also thrive under deciduous shrubs. The flowering time is May/June. Camassias grow fairly high, about 50 cm to 90 cm.
