The color of the flower of the Stresa tulip bulb is yellow on the outside with a large red spot on the petals. The inside of the flower is mainly yellow. The heart is yellow with a red border. The pistil and stamens are also yellow. The flower stands on a light green stem of about 20 cm. high. This tulip bulb is very suitable for planting a pot.

The Stresa tulip bulbs are related to botanical tulips. That is why the tulip bulbs from this group naturalize easily. The flowers are large and open wide in full sun. These tulips are well applicable in borders, parks, rock gardens and in grass. The height of the tulip is 20 to 30 cm and it flowers at the end of March / beginning of April.

The best planting time for Stresa tulip bulbs are the months of October and November. The tulip bulb needs some time to form roots before the first frost comes. If you plant the tulip bulbs before October, there is a risk of frost damage because the tulips will emerge too early in the spring. The planting depth is 3 times the height of the bulb. In order to bloom in the spring, a tulip bulb needs the indispensable winter. So a cold period, which should last at least 9 weeks with a temperature below 10 degrees Celsius. Tulip bulbs are best planted in well-loosened, not too wet soil. If they are too wet, the bulbs will rot and there will be no flower. They do well in sun or partial shade. Plant tall tulips in a place where they are protected from strong winds to prevent blowing over. You can plant the tulip bulbs in groups or scatter the tulip bulbs and plant them where they fell. The latter gives a natural effect.

The Stresa tulip bulbs also do well in a pot or container. One of the most important rules is: ensure good drainage, because tulip bulbs cannot withstand too much moisture. After planting, you can bury the pots and cover them with a layer of straw to protect them from freezing.
